We support two couples living in the Caribbean, Jorge and Sandra and Carlos and Rosa. Each of these couples are locals who have been working as missionaries for the large majority of their lives. The focus on their ministry is reaching children through Kids Clubs, a program that is put on for children to attend to hear the Gospel message and receive a hot meal.
Since 2003, MVC has worked together with our National Missionary Reps to reach a multitude of people in two areas of the country. While construction opportunities to assist the nationals are plentiful, resources are always in short supply. Children ministry have reached thousands of the younger generation. Nationals continue to be trained to impact the nation. Recently, teams have reached out to the special needs community. With very few social programs, opportunities to serve and assist those with special needs and their caregivers are plentiful. Home visits are a critical part of this ministry. One’s physical presence, prayers and words can bring tears to a people in dire situations.
Many pastors subsist on very little income (in the countryside many pastors live on $10 USD or less per month. Sadly, it is the children of the pastoral couple who suffer the most. While there are opportunities for supporting pastors, MVC is beginning to investigate ways to create a better measure of sustainability through agriculture or small business ventures.
God is at work in this country and Canadians play an important role in being the hands and feet of Jesus to being hope and love to these people. Be a part of touching a life! Your PERSONAL PARTICIPATION can encourage those who continue to struggle and bring them hope. We believe with GOD, all things are possible as we bring the gospel of hope and life in a variety of tangible ways. People of variety interests and talents are needed!
