We have different types of trips to suit all of those who wish to GO and serve. Ranging anywhere from 1 week to 2+ years, there is a way for you to be involved.

Programs Offered

Duration: 1-3 weeks

Costs (estimated):
Central/South America: $1,600 – $2,500/per person
Africa: $3,000- $3,700/per person
Each participant is responsible for the cost of their own trip, designated as donations to MVC for the cost of the trip.

These are a few areas of work in Exposure team trips:

Construction:
Working alongside local workers, building according to local standards, tasks may include: laying foundation, ‘brick burning’, painting, renovating indoors, digging and placing posts, etc.

Medical/Dental:
Open to experienced and qualified Canadian medical professionals. These teams work under the supervision of local medical professionals providing routine care, performing examination, administering medication, etc.

Children:
Several different activities, such as working in feeding centres, orphanages, home visits, teaching ESL, teaching Bible stories, organizing crafts and leading recreational programs for kids.

Life skills development/job training:
These are specific teams which are sent out to work with programs that already exist to provide communities with sustainable ways to improve their livelihood.

Women’s Ministry:
Women helping Women ministry encompasses a variety of roles, including teaching sewing skills, counselling, providing childcare, leading Bible studies, cooking and teaching women about hygiene and nutrition. The ministry enables women to develop specialized skills, which they may use to start a small business, thus increasing their earning potential.

Duration: 1-3 months

Opportunities for Experience Internships include:

Peru:
Children’s ministry, street ministry, support to missionary representatives

Guatemala:
Medical professionals, English and ESL teachers

Ukraine:
ESL for youth through camping programs

Africa:
Working with children, teaching, community development and nutrition/ health education

Duration: 6-18 months

Engagement Internships are a mentoring program from Missionary Ventures Canada. The trips are longer in duration and Interns have mentorship sessions and deeper involvement in the ministry.

Opportunities for Engagement Internships include:

Peru:
Children’s ministry, street ministry, support to missionary representatives

Nicaragua | Mexico | Guatemala:
Teaching English and ESL to children in a private Christian school

Duration: 2+ years

The steps

1. Pray
Where is God leading you? What do you want to accomplish? How do you want to serve?

2. Discover
Look through the opportunities above to see what is open. Contact us to participate in one of these teams or start a team.

3. Apply
All trips require an application form and documentation, some trips also require an interview and training

4. Fundraise
Participants are required to raise the funds for their trip, through donations to MVC designated to the trip. Long term trips will require long term funding.
